MTD ITSA -- digital tax records are mandatory

Making Tax Digital for Income Tax applies from April 2026 for landlords with income over £50,000 and from April 2027 for income over £30,000. Quarterly digital submissions to HMRC are required. Per-room income and expense tracking is not optional -- it is a compliance requirement.
